Dear Friends and Painters,
I hope this newsletter will find you happy, healthy and creative. The spring and summer have been good to me, offering me time to explore process painting and writing into new discoveries I will look forward to share with you.
I just came back from the Esalen Institute a couple of weeks ago where Cathy, Debbie and I enjoyed a wonderful workshop and took great pleasure in the amazing beauty of that unique place.
Now I am getting ready to fly to Europe for the German workshop in ZIST with Debbie and Eve-Marie, joined later by Kathrin, who has kindly helped us gather the painting materials we need for the 45 people workshop (wait-listed). Most people will be speaking English but Eve-Marie and Kathrin speaking German will certainly be of great help. It is my first time back in Europe after 3 years and I look forward to reconnecting with that part of the world.
I have recently put a lot of thought and passion into finding ways to stimulate the teaching potential of those wanting to enter that field. I wrote many pages while developing new ways to access creative intuition during teaching. I now look forward to presenting these options for the first time in the January 30 Feb 5, 2011 Master Class in San Francisco, combined in a unique practical program for teachers-to-be.
I am also happy to announce that I just scheduled a 5-day workshop in San Francisco, March 8 to 13, 2011, for beginners and continuing.

A Note From Michele

To find our intuition we need to come from a place of innocence; a place that responds to the moment without trying to use it for another purpose. It is such a refreshing gesture to simply respond to the now with our heart; to be willing to let life flow as it does, as it must at that instant.
Our mind forgets easily that life is never static but passes through us as a moving current, like the flow of a river whose waters are free to dance to the intricacies of life.
The mind with its conditioning endlessly attempts to jump ahead, imagining illusory treasures or dreadful pits around corners while ignoring the beauty and mystery of the simple gesture that is the full expression of the moment.
I urge you to experiment painting without an expected future, without a story to resolve, and, to see the beauty and joy that comes out of a single stroke of paint; a beauty that does not only belong to painting but to being.
